Background:

November is the time to celebrate National Career Development Month, Week (Nov. 11-15) and Day (Nov. 13). Each year this provides an opportunity to increase public awareness about the importance of lifelong career development and making informed education and career decisions. In celebration, the Idaho Career Development Association (ICDA) www.idahocda.org has secured a proclamation declaring November as Career Development Month in Idaho!

Awards:

ICDA will recognize individuals for their exceptional leadership in career development throughout the state. The goals of the Leadership in Career Development Awards are to bring recognition to the organizations and people that contribute and bring attention to the importance education and career choices play in people’s lives.

Award criteria is based upon one or more of the following:

  • Helping individuals increase self-understanding about their abilities, interests, values and goals as they relate to the world of work.
  • Providing accurate and timely data, information and analysis of educational and occupational opportunities for individuals to make informed decisions.
  • Providing counseling and guidance to assist individuals with the planning and achievement of personal career goals.
  • Fostering community partnerships between education, families, agencies and business to improve local communities.
  • Advocating for expansion and innovative delivery of career development resources and services to individuals in local communities.
